Trophy Elk Outfitters
Location |
The hunt area has been dormant, unspoiled and untouched for the last 25
years. Now, for the first time, trophy bulls and their harem of cows have
been released into this natural, virgin landscape. Nestled in central
Oklahoma the Turkey Track Ranch (originally established 1883) has everything
that a hunter could possibly ask for in a dream hunt. The scenery is
stunning including mesa top views, running streams, moss covered boulders,
valleys amid hillsides covered with oak, cottonwood, pines and cedar. Native
wildlife is abundant; turkeys, white tail deer, coyotes, bobcats and the
occasional fox. Numerous ponds teem with bass, perch, beaver, geese,
mallards and wood ducks. Turkey Track Ranch
Trophy Elk Outfitters has obtained exclusive hunting rights on a portion
of what was originally the famous Turkey Track Ranch and is proud to offer a
hunting experience in a region rich in history and lore. In the 1800s the
area was known as the “cross timbers” where the Staked Plains claimed by the
Comanche as prime hunting grounds for buffalo and antelope met the
beginnings of the forests and piney woods where deer and elk were abundant.
It is the ultimate natural wildlife habitat at its best providing everything
that elk and deer need to grow massive, beautiful racks.
Prior to Oklahoma Statehood the Turkey Track Ranch was the largest cattle
and horse operation in Indian Territory operated on land allotted to and
leased from the Sak and Fox Indian Tribe. The ranch lands were included in
the Oklahoma Land Run. In 1889 the man with the fastest horse and greatest
determination claimed it for his own. |
