Laurentian Wildlife Hunts

Location

"An area with a vast natural beauty and rich in recreational activities"

Situated in the southern rim of the vast Laurentian Mountains, the estate is located one and a quarter hours drive northwest of Montreal. Montreal is home to an international airport accommodating direct flights from most international and domestic locations. Thirty minutes to the north of the estate is Mont Tremblant. The highest peak in the Laurentians, it is now one of the largest ski and golf resorts on North Americas' East Coast. Its cobbled streets are lined with fine restaurants, entertainment, nightlife and also some first class shopping for those who wish to take home some additional souvenirs. It makes for an enjoyable option during your stay at the estate.

Accommodations & Lodging

The Lodge: Centrally located amongst the preserves is the fully serviced guest lodge. At the end of an exciting day of hunting, the warmth, comfort and hospitality of the lodge & staff offers the perfect atmosphere for much needed rejuvenation. Great food, fine wine and superb company is what makes the lodge an integral part of your hunting experience here at Laurentian Wildlife Estate. All bedrooms have their own bathrooms giving privacy and allowing for any non-hunting guests to accompany you during your stay. The lodge has the flexibility of accommodating individual hunters and groups alike. One of the guest bedrooms at the lodge is designed to accommodate hunters with disabilities and includes a wheelchair bathroom. Laurentian Wildlife Estate is determined to not let what you cannot do, stop you from doing what you can do.

When:
Hunting begins in late August and ends when the snow falls in late November. Slots are limited each season. Interested parties are encouraged to book now to ensure a position for this season. A typical hunt at the estate will cover three days and the estate's policy has always been, no harvest - no pay. In 2001 the estate had 100% success rate. If by chance you harvest your animal early in the hunt, your excursion is by no means over. Estate guests can continue going out into the preserves stalking more animals, fishing and taking more video footage for you to take home.

How:
All hunts are carried out through a one on one guide service and hunters can choose to hunt with either bow, rifle or muzzle loader.

Point of interest:
In 2001, 2/3 of the hunters preferred to hunt with the bow.A memorable example can be seen in the image to the right. The guides here at the estate are second to none in their experience and understanding of the various species of animals and their habitat.

What is included in a typical hunt?

  • Three nights of fully serviced lodge accommodation.
  • Airport transportation from Montreal.
  • Field preparation with initial processing of your meat and cape.
  • A video of your hunt to take home & share the experience with others.
  • Fishing is included in every hunt package.

Because Laurentian Wildlife Estate is a privately managed hunting preserve, no hunting licenses are required and there is no set bow or rifle season.
